Today, the Center works to protect, restore, and interpret the desert landscape surrounding Lancaster, taking visitors on a journey through time. The Center is home to a modern learning center with interactive exhibits and information on the local landscape, geology, the desert ecosystem, and the area's history. In addition to the traditional displays, the Center also offers special learning programs and activities for all ages. From guided hikes to hands-on art projects and interactive learning experiences, the Center offers something for everyone. The Elyze Clifford Interpretive Center also features a two-acre nature preserve. The preserve is home to various plants, birds, lizards, and other wildlife and is open for visitors of all ages to explore.
