Lancaster’s central park, the smaller Retired Astronaut Park, is the city’s official community green space. This park spans 76 acres of land, making it an ideal spot for a picnic or a quick game of catch. It’s also home to a disc golf course, a skate park, and a lovely playground. Carousel Park, at Brandywine and Watt Farms, provides a beautiful view of the valley and the windmills, making it a must-see on any Lancaster adventure. Here, visitors can take a peaceful stroll, have a picnic with friends, or brave the swings. There’s also a children’s play area and a large pavilion. Just east of the central park is Deer Valley Park. This area of Lancaster offers acres of trails where hikers and mountain bikers can test their skills. Deer Valley Park is also home to a pond, a natural adaptation for wildlife, and a unique flora and fauna. The more north-side of town has its collection of noteworthy parks. Pearblossom Park is only nine acres, but its scenic views, play area, and sporting facilities mean you can find something fun to do. Ritter Park, located in the heart of West Lancaster, has a walking trail, lengthy grassy play areas, and plenty of trees.
